Our Story
January 2014 – It all started with an empty chair...
On a predictably warm, sunny California day at LMU, Carly hastily hurried from ballet class to the other side of campus for her Principles of Marketing course.
Hair slicked back in a bun, leotard and tights inconspicuously hidden underneath her sweatpants and sweatshirt, she made it to the lecture hall with just a few minutes to spare. Happy to have made it in time, she chose a seat, sat down, and pulled out her notebook like any good student would.
“Are you really going to leave that seat open?” Carly looked up to see a long-haired, sun-kissed surfer boy staring directly at her with a big smile on his face. Ten shades of red and incapable of forming an audible response, Carly simply picked up her notebook and shifted over one seat to sit next to this beautiful man. “My name is Kerigan, what’s yours?”
And so it began…
After a few months of studying together as friends, Kerigan finally asked Carly on a formal date. [May 15th, 2014]. From that moment on, they’ve been inseparable.
From Playa Vista, to their dream beach house in El Segundo, endless food adventures and countless family vacations together, they finally got engaged in 2022, after 8 years of dating. Since then, Carly has received her master's degree and is now working as a dermatology physician assistant and Kerigan started graduate school for his master's in construction management. They picked up their lives and moved to Chicago together where they will soon buy a home and start their family. For nearly a decade, they’ve created beautiful memories together and they’re only just getting started.
We are beyond excited for you all to share in what will be our most special memory yet; when we say “I do” this upcoming March 8th, 2025, in one of our most cherished and beloved destinations, Punta Mita, Mexico. We are SO excited for you all to join us as #CarTakesKer.
